Pumpkin Carving For Equestrians
Halloween is right around the corner and what’s Halloween without carving a pumpkin? If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram, you know every year I carve a horse themed Halloween pumpkin. This year I thought I’d take a minute to share where I get my stencils from. Because lets face it, I’m simply not quite THAT creative with basic squash and a sharp object. Pro tip – these are free to download using the links below!
My first shout-out goes to Hunt Seat Paper Company. Amy is super creative and kindly shares her stencils for free. Unlike the generic headless horseman you see elsewhere, Hunt Seat Paper Co. offers a detailed horse head silhouette, dressage, horse, and a jumping horse. All with nice detailing, but nothing that will leave you feeling unhinged when you’re finished. You can find them on her website HERE
My next favorite go-to for fun pumpkin carving stencils is The Plaid Horse Magazine. Piper and her crew put together a fun collection of Hunter/Jumper themed stencils that are perfect for your inner pony child! They’ve got a hunter, a jumper, and a horse doing a model jog. The model is probably the easiest, and I would say the jumper and hunter require a little bit more skill and patience. You can find the article including their free to download stencils HERE:
Another great site for Halloween stencils is museprintables.com . They have tons of stencils for your pumpkin carving needs. Honestly anything your into they’ve got a stencil for it. But they also have lots of horse stencils if you have some time to dig through their library. They range from cartoon style to still-life horses in a variety of poses. They offer a variety of difficulties with lots for kids or novice carvers. However, there are plenty for experts out there that are looking for a challenge!
Here are a few of my favorites, but check out the site for more!
Or how about this one? This one looks like it’s going to require some serious patience and skills!
I might just stick to this one this year, he looks pretty straight-forward without a lot of details to mess up!
If you’re feeling extra creative and maybe a little bougie, you can check out these paid designs over on Etsy. Some of the ones I’ve found are incredibly detailed and are very inexpensive with an immediate download.
Just look at the detailing on this one!
These are some of my favorite places to get equestrian Halloween pumpkin carving stencils from, what are some of yours? If you use any of these be sure to tag us and where you got it from! We can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity this year!
