R. J. Classics Ride and Write Review - Anna Breeches

It's been nearly 8 weeks since our last ride and write contest where we collaborated with R.J. Classics. This contest chose winners to test ride the R.J. Classics Anna breeches. The results are in, and our contestant's agree these pieces won big!

A note from Rachel: These are hands down my new favorite breeches. The material is stretchy and comfortable. No unsightly lines from undergarments either. The length is great with the stretchy ankle panel—no bunching and as a shorter rider (5’0”) the regular length is right above my ankle and since the stretch material is fitted it means no bunching under socks which means no blisters from the fabric rubbing in my boots.

The waist fits nicely—stretchy instead of stiff like other brands I have tried so the waistband fits without bunching beneath my belt for comfort all day.

 

1. What brand and style breeches do you where most often, and what do you like about them?

Piper - the fit. I'm a short rider and finding regular length breeches that will fit my waist/hips and not be bunched up at the ankles. The Anna breeches are the first brand I've found to fit just a good if not a little better.

2. What is your primary riding discipline?

Hunters

3. What sets the R.J. Classics Anna breeches apart from other breeches you have worn in the past?

Comfort and flattering lines. When it's cold I like to wear some sort of long john or thermal layer underneath my breeches. Lots of brands highlight every wrinkle of the under layer or get too tight and make it difficult to move.

With the R. J. Classics Anna breeches. I was able to wear thermals with no bunching or unsightly lines--you couldn't even tell I had anything over than the breeches on. And making a good impression while being comfortable is of the utmost importance to me.

4. What three descriptive words would you use to describe your experience with these breeches?

Comfortable, flattering, and high quality.

5. If these breeches were a celebrity who would they be and why?

Shohreh Aghdashloo -- She plays Chrisjen Avasarala on The Expanse on Prime. She's absolutely beautiful and her outfits are always elegant and eye catching. I feel these breeches do that for me when I enter the show ring.

6. What advice would you give to someone considering these breeches?

Buy them. They are the nicest show breeches I've ever work and well worth the money. I'm already saving up for another pair.

Perfect, I love them!

8. How well did these breeches do in the washing machine?

Washed up great!

Historically I’ve never been a fan of mid rise but these Anna mid-rise breeches will definitely be my new favorite show pants moving forward. Paired with my R.J. Harmony mesh show coat, I found myself chilled on a warm day! The entire RJ outfit is as flattering as it is functional. I received many outfit compliments throughout the show this weekend.

Romfh Champion and Hadley high rise full seat, I love the rise, the full seat, and that they're good for curvier riders

The fabric felt really nice, durable but very comfortable without being like yoga pants, great balance of structure and comfort

Blake Lively because she's classic and relaxed

If you're looking for a really nice classic hunter knee patch breech for schooling or showing, these are great.

I like Samshield because I like the compression, they’re flattering and they have great colors.

They have a great price point.

Classic, affordable, comfortable

5. What advice would you give to someone considering these breeches?

Make sure you try them on sitting, and standing to determine which size will be comfortable riding

6. How would you describe the fit?

I think they run true to size when standing up. I think the waist runs smaller than the size when in the saddle and sitting. The waist has less stretch than other brands.
